World Liberty Financial, the “high-yield” DeFi protocol backed by Trump, has announced the addition of two new advisors, Sandy Peng, the founder of ZK L2 Scroll, and Luke Pearson, a GP at Polychain Capital, ahead of its expected launch at 8PM ET tonight.

What's the Scoop?

  • Two Sets of ZK Expertise: As Scroll’s co-founder, Sandy Peng brings deep experience with navigating zero-knowledge technology — expertise also shared by Luke Pearson, who has been researching zero-knowledge and cryptography since 2017.
  • Previous Advisors: Peng and Pearson join a roster of at least 4 other advisors, including Corey Caplan – co-founder of DeFi protocol Dolomite, Alexei Dulub – founder of Web3 Antivirus, Ogle – a cybersecurity professional, and Rafael Yakobi – a crypto-focused lawyer.

Bankless Take:

Sandy Peng and Luke Pearson are World Liberty Financial’s most prominent advisors yet. Their track records of launching successful, high-growth projects — such as Peng's role in scaling Scroll Scroll and Pearson's leadership at Polychain Capital — bring tested expertise in driving protocol expansion. Further, their joint focus on zero knowledge may suggest future plans for WLFI, which could be interested in integrating this technology in its stack, either as a privacy feature or a means for scaling.
